Memory of My Life- 6: Last Marriage in our Family

Yhea! It was the last marriage festival of our family, not for all time, but for until today. Yes, I've 3 cousins brothers and they are elder than me. So, they got married before I finish my engineering. The 1st one got married when I was in 7th standard and the 2nd one in 2013.

They didn't invite me to the 2nd one's marriage since my 2nd-semester exams were starting from the next day of his marriage. So, I missed it. That's why they had asked me before fixing the date of the 3rd one. Finally, I was invited to the marriage which was held on 26th April 2016. Yes, 2016 was my last year of Engineering and he had his marriage before my final exams.

That journey from Bhawanipatna to Bhadrak was a memorable one. I was suffering from typhoid in those days, so planned an early comeback to home before the marriage. That night, I took the direct bus from Bhawanipatna to Bhadrak. Yes, just before 15 days, the direct bus from Bhawanipatna to Bhadrak started and this was my 1st journey to Bhadrak directly. Unfortunately, the bus had broken down in the middle of the road, but the driver managed to drive in that condition. Previously our plan was to reach by 7 am but reached on 10 am.

Finally, the marriage date came we were having fun. Yes, that fun was enough I know. I don't have any friends there to make fun. But I could make fun by myself and I know it. That's why I was busy in covering all the moments. I've documented everything on that day. But, couldn't capture the full rituals of Marriage. That's all about the marriage day.

Memory of My Life- 5: Farewell to our Seniors

It was 20th April 2015, when we arranged the farewell party for our seniors at Townhall, Bhawanipatna. Previously, those two batches arranged the farewell party inside the college campus, but unfortunately, we couldn't get the permission to conduct it in college. So, we planned it outside the campus.

On 19th April  2013, our seniors (2nd-year students) through a welcome party to us. But I couldn't manage to attend that due to some work at home. But the next day after 2 years, we planned the farewell party for them.

There was a back paper exam on 22nd April so some of our friends couldn't join for the arrangement works. But other friends arranged everything from booking to inviting. I was there in the back-paper group, so I went there around 3 o'clock in the afternoon. But seniors came around 6.30 in the evening. Yes that was the unofficial last day in the college, but the exam was not over till then, so they had around 30 days in the college.

Previously, the farewell was conducted after the exam, but some seniors couldn't come to the party since they had booked their tickets early. That's why we arranged the party earlier. Yes, all the seniors came to the party. So, the plan was successful.

When they arrived we welcome them and they put their palm impression on a board with their signature. Look how beautiful it's appearing. Till now, this board is stored inside our CSE department. When I went to college on 8th January, I got surprised to see this board inside the room. Yes, it's their memory and all their love stored on this board.

Boys were in the white shirt and black pant, girls were in sarees and all were looking beautiful. It was going to be another memorable day for them, so all were excited when they came to the party.

But the teachers didn't come to the party, so they feel sad for that. We all made fun, they dance, share their love, feelings, stores with others. Some were happy with their new relationships and some felt bad for the heartbroken. After all, we did lots of fun. And my work was to capture every moment on that day. So, when we all see those pictures, we could feel those days, those enjoyments, those small quarrels, those raggings, everything with them.

The stage was there for them, for us to celebrate every moment of that day. This is such a day, which comes only once in life. Yes, you might attend some other farewell parties, but couldn't attend the same party with the same friends again. So we did all those things which we could do to make that day memorable for them, for us.

Image may contain: 6 people, people sitting, crowd and indoor

Image may contain: 11 people, including Bharati Ruby, people smiling, people sitting

Image may contain: 1 person, standing, shoes and indoor

And all the fun suddenly brought a sad among all of them, when the final goodbye time came. But, nobody cried on that day. Since all the same feelings but all tried to entertain others. Yes, some girls cried, but we managed to overcome that part. Finally, the party was over. And as always, we clicked the group photo. In that group photo, we all framed in. On that day, we all are friends. But I was not there in the frame since I was capturing the photo.

Memory of My Life- 4: The photo captured by me Feature as Photo of the Week on Odia Wikipedia

In life, small things could give you many reasons for happiness. It was 12th April in 2016, when I got a ping from Sailesh Patnaik that a photo which I had captured was featuring as Photo of Week on Odia Wikipedia. So, I had checked the home page immediately and look at the picture, what I found.

The featured photo was about a person who was playing a musical instrument known as "Kendara" in Odisha. Some years before, a bunch of people came to Odisha and started living in a specific region. Since they were outsiders, they used to beg by playing this instrument and singing a special song which is known as "Gobinda Chandra Tika".

There is a story behind this "Gobinda Chandra Tika" since centuries. There was a prince named Gobinda Chandra, whose mother got to know that her son won't live longer. So, she decided to give him to the God so the God would take care of him. That's why she gave him a "Kendara" and taught him some song to sing and sent him to the Saint Hadippa.

Memory of My Life- 3: Farewell by our Juniors at GCEK

It is going to complete 2 years since we left the college. Before we left, our juniors threw a farewell party to us on this day in 2016. It was 10 April 2016, and we had our last enjoyment with juniors. The previous year, we arranged the farewell party a long time before for the final exam, so they also arranged the farewell party 1 and a half months before. Before that, our seniors had arranged the farewell party after the exam, but a problem arose there. So, we had planned the farewell party much before the exam and our juniors also do the same.

During our time, we couldn't get the chance to plan the farewell meeting in college, so we conducted outside and our junior also faced the same problem. So, they had arranged the party at Amala Bhavan near to Government bus stand. On the farewell day, most of the students would be shown upset, but we had another 1.5 months there, so none of us felt that. So, we enjoyed that day.

In the evening, we went there are they welcome us with diya and offered us a rose. At the time when I reached, there were a few of our friends and no girls were there until that time. Yes, they need more time for their makeover. So, it's a common thing.

Yhea! that's me. Don't know who had clicked this photo. But my eyes were looking horrible. That rose was in my pocket and it's with me till now. I've fixed it in my diary on the day of 10 April 2016.

After that, we wait for our other friends. Look at that little girl, she came with one of our juniors. In that leisure time, she performed on a Bollywood track, "Khinch Meri Photo" and I just clicked a photo. Finally, the girls had come and two of our teachers, Kamakshya Sir and Ashok sir had come.

They both lighten the diya and gave a formal speech for us. After that, Prateek and Saswati, our class representatives had their small speech. And all were excited about the cake cutting.

After the cake cutting and having some snacks, both of our teachers left that place. But I missed other teachers and Rajendra sir the most. We took some snaps with teachers.

When the teachers left, they had planned for some fun games. And all of us enjoyed those. Some students confess about their crush and secret love stories with us. And some got the change to propose them if they were present there. Even a number of boys had proposed a single girl.

But, we were happy with our photo shoot. We had clicked a number of photos with our friends and juniors. At the time of dinner, I had clicked lots of photos. Even I remembered a click, where some of our girls stood with a model pose, but I couldn't click them and was busy with some other clicks. But made them to hold that pose for few minutes and finally clicked them. Here is that photo.

And did lots of fun with all of them from juniors to seniors. And there was a funny moment with me when I had taken a photo with our lateral entry girls. For the extra height, I made to sit on my feet and Pankajini had put a rose on my head.

Finally, they called me to the stage for a formal speech for our friends and junior. I was there with two of my friends, Swapna and Swagatika. Usually, I used to talk in Odia, but on the stage, some English words came out from me. But all of them demanded the Odia speech. So, I tried my best to speak in pure Odia. It's difficult to speak in pure Odia since some of our words are mixed with other languages.

Before leaving that hall, we had clicked the group photo. Some of our friends had left to their room, but we didn't have any barriers. On that day, we did many crazy things and as usual, I couldn't dance on the floor. But I enjoyed their dance and clicked lots of photos. The farewell day is the most memorable day in the life. It's like an unofficial transfer certificate.

Memory of My Life- 2: 8 Years Back, went to VCSC for Demo Classes

8 years back on this day, I had started reading in a college. Actually, that is known as School outside Odisha, but in Odisha, we are considering it as college after 10th. So, after my 10th exam, my parents and some of my teachers planned to send me a residential college, Vinayak College of Science and Commerce to for the demo classes. After the 10th exam, at those days, we got at least 3 months, so within those 3 months, some residential colleges planned for the demo classes, so the students could get in touch with studies as well as know some about their next studies.

So, I went to the hostel on 7th April 2010 and from 8th April 2010, we had our classes. Previously, I hadn't stayed outside my home except our relative's house, but that time, I had to leave the home and stay with new friends. So, I was excited at that time and in those days, I was totally different from nowadays. So, when they asked me for the classes, I just asked them, "are they going to teach me about computers?" Because, until that day, I didn't have a single knowledge about computer and perhaps didn't see a computer from very close. So, I had planned before finishing the exam, to join a computer academy and must learn some about the computer. When my father said me that, they are going to teach us some basics of computers, I was in the 9th cloud and immediately put a yes for that.

So, everything had prepared as per the plan and that was my 1st time outside the home. That's why everyone had advised me about the hostel, college, class, etc. So, on the 7th April, me with my father and with a teacher arrived there to the college. When I reached there, it was the evening snacks time and after snacks, we had an evening prayer. After that, I went to my room. It was a 7 sharing room, where I got another 5 new friends who came to the hostel for the 1st time and one of them was staying in the hostel from his class 1. So, he had more experience than us. Fortunately, we made friends with the 2nd year students.

It was the morning of 8th April 2010, we came out for a Puja at the temple inside the campus and after the Puja, we had attended the class which was a formal introduction class. The principal had given the formal introduction of teachers, but I just remembered only one youngest teacher's face, who was a former faculty member from KBRC, Bhubaneswar. Actually, I couldn't remember his name, but I remembered him as Nayak sir and till now, I'm calling him as Nayak sir.

After that introduction round, we had our morning breakfast and attended 3 classes on that day. We were there for 2 months and everyone counting the days to go home from the beginning. On the 1st day, I was introduced to some other new friends and it was a great experience of my life. In those days, I didn't have much of interest in writings, so I had never noted those things in any diary of somewhere else. But on this day, I wished to write some of these experiences in a diary.

So, this was the 1st experience in my +2 college, where I read for the next two years. But these days, taught me some new experiences as well as some good things in my life. I would love to share those in my future blogs.

Memory of My Life- 1: 2 Years Back Celebrated Anmol's B'day in College for the last time

Hello everyone!

Actually, from today onwards, I would share some of my memories in a form of a blog. Previously, I used to write some stories about the Daily Life Style Photo Challenge, Favorite book Cover Photo challenge. And those felt me good when I've shared those, but after those seven days, I couldn't write any other blogs. So, I've decided to write something every day, if possible about some of my memories from past years. So, I'm taking the help of Google Photos and Facebook to get those memories back, since they are showing the memories on my Time Line as per the exact date.

2 years back on this day, we had celebrated Anmol's birthday at GCEK for the last time. Yes, that was the 1st time actually. Because previously I hadn't attended any of her birthdays. But for the last time, I was there and captured lots of photos. Actually, there were not many friends, but we were a few to celebrate it. Since we were celebrating in the classroom, so we had to keep the surroundings little quite. So, fewer friends made this happen.

She cut the cake, but unfortunately, on that day, I forgot my camera in the room, so couldn't capture that. But after that, I took some snaps on Malay's phone. And all those were there to celebrate present in this photo except me since I was taking the photos. But, after this photo, Gagan had clicked my photo too.

10,000 Edits on Odia Wikipedia

On 28 July 2014, I joined Wikipedia and created an article in English which deleted within 30 to 40 minutes. Then created another article on 20th August which was my 1st English Wikipedia Article.

Then on 10 October 2014, I've created the 1st Odia Wikipedia article on Odia Wiki, but that also deleted due to lack of reference. So, on 15 December 2014, I had translated my 1st English Wikipedia article to Odia and that is my 1st Odia Wikipedia article.

Last year on 25th May 2017, I had reached the 1,000 edits on both Odia Wikipedia and Odia Wikisource on a single day. But these #100Wikidays work, #AsiaMonthEdiatho, #WomensMonthEditathon helped me to reach the 10,000 edits milestone in these 11 Months.

I would give a special thanks to Subhashish Panigrahi and Mrutyunjaya Kar for teaching me to create good articles on Wikipedia. And Sailesh Patnaik for inspiring me to write for #100wikidays challenge.

Seven Favorite Book Covers in 7 Days- Day 7

I've accepted the book cover photo challenge from the writer of Nalichuda Sulagna Mohanty to post 7 covers of my favorite most book in 7 days. Previously I've shared one Odia storybook by her, and other 5 English novels in last 6 days.

On this 7th or the final day of the challenge, I've shared the cover of our Magzine Nabapallaba. Yes, it's not a novel, but it's an Odia Magazine which was released today only for the Utkala Dibasa.

Seven Favorite Book Covers in 7 Days- Day 6

I accept the challenge of the writer, teacher, storyteller Sulagna Mohanty to post seven favorite most book cover photos in seven days. Previously, I've shared 5 book covers like Nalichuda, When Only Love Remains, This love that feels right, The boy who loved and One Indian Girl in last 5 days.

On this 6th day, I've shared one of my another favorite book, "I Too Had A Love Story" by Ravinder Singh. He wrote this book on the memory of his lost girlfriend who died in a road accident. I couldn't manage to read this book but listened the from Audiobook. After that, I've reviewed about this book in audio format and shared on my YouTbue channel. Since I don't have the book, I've shared this cover by downloading from Google.

Seven Favorite Book Covers in 7 Days- Day 5

I accept the seven book cover challenge from Sulagna Mohanty 4 days back. So, I've posted 4 books in last 4 days. On the 1st day, I've posted the Odia book "Nalichuda", which is written by her only. On the 2nd and 4th day, I've shared the books "When Only Love Remains" and "The Boy Who Loved" by Durjoy Datta. On the 3rd day, I've shared the cover photo of "This Love that Feels Right" by Ravinder Singh.

And on this 5th Day, I couldn't Manage to post the photo in time due to the Nabapallaba work. So, today, I shared the photo of "One Indian Girl" by Chetan Bhagat. As I know him from the movie "3 Idiots" and then his stories "Half Girl Friend" and "2 States" were the biggest hits and then tuned into Bollywood movies. This is the first book of Chetan Bhagat which I read. The story is really amazing, but in some cases, I don't like that portion. At the end, I got an amazing knowledge like from the book, "This Love that Feels Right" by Ravinder Singh.

Seven Favorite Book Covers in 7 Days- Day 4

I accept the Seven favorite most book's cover and post them on social media without any explanation from Sulagna Mohanty, the writer of Nalichuda Book. I've shared Nalichuda, The Boy Who Loved & This Love that Feels Right on the 1st, 2nd & 3rd day accordingly.

On this 4th day, I've shared the cover of "The Boy Who Loved" by Durjoy Datta. On the occasion of Utkala Dibasa, our magazine Nabapallaba is going to release. That's why today I've shared the Teaser of the 2nd edition of Nabapallaba on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, What's app. So, I clicked the cover of the book with the trailer video.

The Boy Who Loved is the love story series by Durjoy Datta released in May and the 2nd part released in November. But, unfortunately, I couldn't manage to read the 2nd part "The Boy With A Broken Heart".

Seven Favorite Book Covers in 7 Days- Day 3

I accept the challenge form the teacher, story writer, storyteller Sulagna Mohanty mam to post 7 cover photos of my favorite books. So previously I've posted the photo of "Nalichuda" and "When Only Love Remains" on Day 1 and 2 accordingly.

So, on this day 3, I've shared another love story which is written by Ravinder Singh. When I started reading this book, I don't have any idea that the author of this book was staying in Odisha. At the beginning of my reading, even I don't like the title of the book, but continued to reading, since I had paid for it. But, Gradually the story went inside my heart. This is actually not a complete love story, this is a lesson for the society, for those who are suffering from marital problems.

So, that is "This Love that feels Right". This was my 1st book of Ravinder Singh and after reading this, a number of bad things inside also changed. Yes, like SeeKen, I would definitely suggest to read this kind of books, because this is really necessary to our society. If you read the book, then half of the problem could be solved easily.

Seven Favorite Book Covers in 7 Days- Day 2

As per the challenge from Sulagna Mam, yesterday I've posted my 1st favorite book "Nalichuda". And on this 2nd day, I must share another book. This book is very close to my heart. Nilichuda is a collection of short stories, but this is a pure and single love story.

This is my 1st English book which I read in 2017. "When Only Love Remains", the title of this book attracted me to read it. But, one of my friend had inspired me to read any love story novel to improve my English knowledge. So, I started reading this, but the description of the girl on whom the story is based on attracted me more, so continuously I read the book.

But, my reading and understanding power was very poor, so I took a number of days to finish my 1st English Novel. This novel was written by Durjoy Datta. After finishing this book, I become his fan and yes, he had described every bit so attractively, I've imagined that girl Avantika in my mind. This was the 1st time, I've drawn an image in my mind by reading the descriptions.

I'm thankful to Sulagna Mam for this lovely chain challenge. For her, I shared some of my experiences about those lovely books. Since I've written the book reviews, but my feelings are different than those.

Chromebook for the Project Tiger- In a collaboration with Google by Wikipedia

Project Tiger is a collaboration project of Wikipedia with Google to improve the articles of Indic Wikipedia projects like Odia, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, Panjabi etc. For this project Google would help the writer by donating the Internet charges for 3 months and Laptops to 50 volunteers. And within these 3 months (March, April & May), those who write highest articles with the proper guidelines would awarded by 3000 rupees and the lowest two others would get 2000 and 1000 accordingly.

So, I've applied for a laptop, so that I could contribute more than as usual. I must thank Sailesh Patnaik for guiding me to apply for the laptop. After verifying all the applied list, the final result had out and my username "ssgapu22" was on the 33rd number with other 4 Odia Wikipedia friends.

On 16th March, I got an e-mail from Tito da to submit the address to get the laptop. So, I've submitted the address of my PG, where I'm staying right now in Bangalore. After 30 minutes, he pinged me on Facebook and called me to the office. So that, I could receive the laptop directly.

So, I reached there at the CIS-A2K office to receive the laptop. There were Tanveer, Gopala and Tito da and later Ananth joined us. I met them at Mysore for TTT 2018. It was like a reunion with them. After a short conversation with Ravi, I unboxed the laptop and Tito da did the live telecast on Facebook. But in the video, I was looking very bad, but somehow they tolerate that.

In that box, there was an acer Chromebook. I had an experience with the Windows operating system and Linux OS, but this was little different. Since this has the Chrome browser only and all are available online. So, Tito da described some about the Chromebook to me.

Now, I must say something about this laptop. It doesn't have any hard disk drive so we couldn't store the movies. So, all the time we hold it must work and all those works could be done in online. So we could focus more on Wikipedia works. The power backup is outstanding, around 10 to 12 hours. So, the power failure doesn't affect the work. And yes, with a short update of Chrome OS, the Google Playsote activated so we could download the play store apps directly.

By getting this laptop, I started working on this and all those online works are done easily. Previously, when I was using other laptops, the works took longer than as usual since the slow processing, but here that problem avoided. Finally, this laptop would definitely help me for the Wikipedia works. Since I'm working on 1WikiYear in Odia Wikipedia and Wikisource on a particular subject. So, after completing those works I have to write an article for the Project Tiger from the list.

Seven Favorite Book Covers in 7 Days- Day 1

Today, on 26th March 2018, Sulagna Mohanty (Sulagna apa) had tagged me in a Facebook post which is actually a book cover photo challenge. According to that challenge, I need to post 7 cover photos of my favorite books in coming 7 days. As per the rule, we have to post the covers only without any explanations, without any reviews.

But, I have that bad nature to explain about myself, that's why I've explained about every photo at the time of "Seven black and white pictures of your daily life Photo Challenge". So here only I could explain the book covers I've shared there.

On this 1st day, as soon as I got that notifications on Facebook, the 1st book came into my mind was her 1st book which is a collection of short Odia stories published on 26th June 2017. All those stories are related to the society. When I bought that book, I had finished that within 4 hours. After that, I had written an full review of that book which was my 1st review of any book. So, I've shared that book on this 1st day. Since I've not read a huge number of books, but I read some books. So I would share my other favorite books accordingly.

One of my Story with Gulugula (ଗୁଲୁଗୁଲା)

Gulugula, this is the name of an Odia food. Usually, people prefer it for their breakfast. Some years ago, this was the best breakfast for us, but now some other foods took its place. But the emotions with this food would remain like that.

There was a time when we used to eat this as our breakfast since it was cheap in comparison to others and available in every small shop to big shops. Most people prefer this because it won't make you hungry for a long period.

In my school days, I used to go to a tuition which was 6 to 7 kilometers away from my home and in the morning, I had to reach there before 5.30. After the 1st regular mathematics class, I had another class for the optional mathematics. So, this was my life in those 2 months of summer vacations.

Raid: Movie Reviews

Since the plot of the movie is based on a real story, they have shown everything in a real way by adding some punch dialogues which attract people more.

Ajay Devgan played the role of an income tax officer as Amay Patnayak and Ileana D'cruz played the role of his wife as Malini Patnayak. Amay got 49 transfers in just 7 days for his loyalty. He collected some big information from some stranger and went on the raid to the home of an MLA in UP who is well known as Tauji there with the permission from the Govt.

Initially, they couldn't find anything, but with the guidance of the informer, they recovered a huge amount of black money. After that Tauji tried to bribe him, but he refused and Tauji requested to allow him to go out. He allowed him and sent him out. Tauji went to all the minister from CM to PM. Finally, PM called Amaya t stop the raid, but Amay demands the order written, so PM also bent after him.

But the innocent people who don't have any idea about Tauji came to attach the IT officers, but somehow Amay succeed to save them and he stayed there till the force came to rescue, he protect all the raid amount from those people.

The performance of Ajay, Ileana, and Sourabh Shukla are outstanding. I think this is the style of Ajaya's work. Music in the movie is also good. The cinematography is also good.

Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety- Movie Review

The story starts with a boy, Sonu who is an event planner and he has a friend, Titu who always needs him. Sonu decides everything about Titu. That's why Titu broke up with her girlfriend as Sonu advised him. After that Titu's marriage fixed with another girl named Sweety. But Sonu doesn't like to share his Titu with anyone else, so he tried various tricks to stop their marriage. But Sonu couldn't find a way to stop their marriage. So finally, he blackmailed Titu emotionally to stop the marriage and Titu ran away from marriage for his one and only best friend.

The performance is good. All played their role as per required. But, I love the role of Alok Nath ji, the Babuji in a different getup. The music of the movie declared super hit for the topmost composers and singers. Music is good. The cinematography is also good. They show the required scenes.

But, the plot of the movie is not so good, it's not that much interesting as we wished. But, hopefully, some comedies have done by all. I would give a 2.5 star to the movie.

Pad Man- Movie Review

The story begins from the 4th night of a guy. He loved his wife more than his life. Sometimes, more and more love creates more problem. But his love is for a reason. He wanted to protect his wife from the dangerous diseases, but due to poverty, he couldn't buy the things which could protect her. So, he made some pad by himself, but those couldn't pass is his 1st experiment.

But, he tried many times with different techniques to prepare the pads. When the villagers knew about his experimental work, they threw him out of the village. Then, he went to learn some technique to make the pad. And finally, with a lot of struggle, he prepared a machine, which makes useable pads.

Then he attended a science exhibition in IIT, Delhi and got the president award. Then he decided to make pads and sell those at a low cost. Then he got call form foreigners for talk show and his villagers' finally accepted him with pride. The dialogue, I love from the movie is "Cheap". Nothing is cheap, we have to pay a lot to make something cheap.

Akshaya Kumar performed his role very well. Radhika and Sonam also played their role good. Other side characters perfomed their role accordingly. The story of the movies could written in a better way, but described in a proper way. Music of the movie is also good. The cinematography is very good, they showed everything properly.

My Valentines Day

Once I read a story about a bottle which floats like this and reached its destination. Then saw the same thing in a movie #Shibamani of Akkineni Nagarjuna.

This is #ValentinesDay, all are celebrating for that love, which needs a proof for every single minute. But all those shown or written in those stories are for the time of reading or watching the movie.

I don't like Valentine's day where we have to prove that how much we love others, how much we could spend on them. I need a day, when some could love me like my parents, someone could trust me like my sister do. That day would become my Valentines day and every day should be the valentines day.

Those who are celebrating in their ways, I never oppose them. Because they might love this way of love. But for a lover, every day should be a valentines day. Every message he spread to other, should be the message of love and happiness.

TTT 2018- Memory, Experience, Knowledge

TTT referred to Train The Trainer, a training program conducting by Center for Internet & Society- Access to Knowledge (CIS-A2K). In this training program, the experienced members of CIS-A2K are going to train with some work to the volunteers of Wikipedia.

I'm also working for Odia Wikipedia, Odia Wikisource since 2014, but never applied for this training program. Due to some miscommunication, I hadn't applied, but this time I applied and got the chance to attend the program. On 3rd December 2017, Odia Wikisource was celebrating its 3rd anniversary and after that, I applied for the TTT 2018. Within some days, Tito da, the member of CIS-A2K contacted me through facebook and then send me the confirmation mail.

Finally, the day came and another member of CIS-A2K Gopala Krishna had contacted me to book the tickets. I'm staying in Bangalore, so it's easy for me to reach Mysore, the place where the training program had organized. On 25th of January, we have to reach the Place.

But, on that day, there was a strike in Karnataka, but fortunately, I got a small vehicle to reach KSR Bengaluru. Due to strike, there was a few traffic and I reached KSR within 45 minutes from Marathahalli. The train hadn't arrived until that time, so I wait there and met 4 other Wikipedians from Marathi wiki and Telugu wiki. Then met another Wikipedian from English wiki on the train.

Around 2.00 we reached the Mysore railway station and took a taxi to reach the hotel. Finally, I reached the hotel and met Tanveer and Tito da after 1.5 years and again reintroduced myself to them. And then some members had come, but I haven't known them except Sailesh Patnaik, my friend from Odia Wiki, Dr Manavpreet Kaur and Satdeep Gill from Panjabi wiki.

At 6.30, we had a formal introduction round and at that time, we got to know each other. Till that time, two of my friends Aliva Sahoo and Prateek Patnaik had reached there and we did some fun also. That introduction round was to know each other and gain some basic idea about each other. And the work for Day0 finally finished and we have to start the main work for Day1 on next day.

Day1: (26th January 2018)

It's 26th of January and when I reached the lobby, one friend from Panjabi wiki Gurlal Mann asked me to join the flag hosting program organized by the hotel. After that, we all met at the meeting hall and the main work for the TTT started. There was another short introduction round by us all and after that, we were divided into five groups. I got the group 4. In my group, we were Dr Manavpreet Kaur, Agastya, Guntupalli Rameswaram Sir, Sumit Surai, Tulsi Bhagat and Gopala Krishna.

The first task we got is "Meet-Up". So, we have to define the meetups and the processes etc. So, we discussed with each other and then draw two different types of Meet up plans for a Project named "Wiki Hates Pollution" suggested by Guntupalli Rameswaram Sir. Sumit da and Agastya had presented that. This work taught me the processes for any plan, which might associate with wiki or not. Before some kind of work, we have to analyze everything as a plan and category them as Prework, Event and Post work.

On this day, the organizers had planned for the sweet table. On that table, the sweets from different states placed and we tested all those as per our choice. There are sweets from Odisha, Bengal, Panjab, Bangladesh etc. This is the chance to get closer to the popular sweet dishes of any state.

After the lunch break, another friend Rohini had joined and she gives a presentation on the project grants, but I don't have any idea how to apply for a grant. So all the things shared by her jumps over me. Then another friend Kiran had joined there and described some tips of photography we need to follow at the zoo. Satdeep Gill, representative of Wikimedia Foundation India also present some works of Wikipedia and show us some amazing videos.

After that, we finished all our sessions and the main work for Day1 closed. And I finished my 100wikidays work for Wikipedia and Wikisource. I wished to go to the Mysore palace but missed the chance to join with Bengal team.

After the dinner, we got our favourite Wikipedia T-Shirts from Royson. In that hall, we had planned to play some fun games. So I joined them and play a game named "Mafia". I don't have any idea about that game, but learned at that time and yes, it's really a fun game. Then we have to leave that room and we again gathered at another room and play the Dumb Charades. I just saw this game on TVs, but never played and for the 1st time, I played that game. And finally, we left around 2.30 am.

Day2: (27th January 2018)

Day 2 was assigned to the field trip where we have to visit the Mysore zoo for the education program. We had planned to go by walk, but at the last moment, went through cabs. We took the 1st group photo at the entrance of the zoo. And in the zoo, a guide named Sneha joined us. That zoo has the unique rule for the plastic bottles to give 10 rupees and take a barcode so that people won't through the plastic bottles inside and at the time of returning they could refund their money from the exit counter by scanning that barcode.

Inside the zoo, Sneha had explained many things about the birds, animals etc. We took almost 4 hours inside the zoo and the director of the zoo gave a presentation about the zoo and their works. But we returned without visiting the reptile section and missed the chance to see the Anaconda. But those time we spent at the zoo are amazing. Before returning the zoo, we took a group photo with the director and with Sneha.

At the time of returning from the zoo, we took the cab again to reach the hotel and after lunch, again we played the Truth and Dare game, where some did many fun things. At 4.30, we had another session about Diversity presented by Dr Manavpreet Kaur which was another important section for us. During that, we prepared another small sheet describing the strength we have. This was presented by Agastya and Tulsi Bhagat.

After finishing all the works for Day 2, we celebrated the 14th Wiki Anniversary for Bengal Wikipedia with Subhendu, Pinaki da, Sumit da and Afifa. Royson, who actually know as cake Ninja of CIS-A2K cut the cake as per the required amount. After that, we finished our dinner and I went to finish the work for that day in 100wikidays. I was on 99th day of my 3rd round challenge and didn't have the internet connection. So I borrowed the internet from Gopala Krishna and finished the work.

After that, I joined with Tito da, Silesh, Krisha Chaitanya, Gopala Krishna, Satdeep, Manav mam, Rupika, Sushma, Puja, Nirajan and played the truth and truth game and made some fun and shared some of our things with others and finally closed all at 3.00am.

Day3: (28th January 2018)

Day 3 was the day for goodbye. But we had to finish some of our work, but before starting our session, I finished my 100th day of the 3rd round of 100wikidays challenge. During the session, we did our last part of Group Activity and prepared another sheet showing our survey. I and Tulsi had presented that. After that, all of us divided with some another group and learned many things about Commons Wikimedia, Support and Security, Wikisource work and Education program. From these four groups, I learned many things about Commons Wikimedia and some good photography tips from Sumit da and Gopal Krishna. Till now I didn't have such knowledge of photography. And learned some measure things from Dr Manavpreet and Afifa about Support and Security from Wikimedia foundation and yes, it's really important to learn.

Krishna Chaitanya and Tito da also presented some tips and work about IRC, Wikipedia projects with us. So, it would help us to involve with wiki works.

After all these sessions, we finished our Lunch and it's time to say goodbye to some people and recorded a feedback video for the TTT. I also gave a feedback video in Odia. After that, we took some photos with some friends and then some left.

In the evening, some of us went to the Mysore Palace, but till we reached there the palace area had been closed, but we saw the lightening view of the palace. After that, we returned to the hotel and had some informal conversations. After dinner, the CIS-A2K team gave me a gift for completing the 100wikidays 3rd time.

Now, it's time to return home. Finally, I returned to Bangalore by a bus with Tito da, Tanveer bhaiya, Gopala, Pavan Bhaiya and Ananth. At the time of returning, I visited the CIS-A2K office in Domblur and then reached my room by cab around 7.00am.

Things I learned from the TTT:

  • Learned about the IRC using Wikipedia.
  • Support and Security Knowledge.
  • More projects involved to Wikipedia.
  • Plans for the meet-up and the survey.

Stop Stereotyping People

Hello everyone!

Wish you all a very Happy New Year. Yes, it's a little bit late. As I've shared some info of work, that I was working for an Odia e-magazine named "Nabapallaba" which was released in this new year. After that, we have planned for the audio magazine. So, we start recording the articles and some also helped as volunteers. That's why, to write the 1st blog in 2018, I took 16 days. Anyway, thanks to you all for your love and support and these things definitely improve my writing style and my literature skills.

Today, when I was scrolling my Facebook Timeline, a video was featured there. That video was shared by BuddyBits. A girl named Megha Jajoo was telling some real-life stories about "MARD KO BHI DARD HOTA HAI". Yes, that video was amazing, and quickly I saved that video to my Saved List on Facebook. Yes, I need to share that video with you, because that video has some facts which we should learn in our life and should understand for a better future.

She explained the story of a10 years little boy named Rohan who lost his first ever Football match. That guy lost the match, so he was upset. He used to cry for that reason, but his mother advised him that "LADKE NEHI ROTE". Yes, that's a little thing did by his mother to arrange some power within him at that time, but that wrong statement creates a big issue for that guy when he grew up. He couldn't explain the internal pain and problem to others.

She also shared an experience of her when she was in Kolkatta. A guy standing behind a girl in the bus accidentally touched the girl when the driver pulled the break. So, the girl slapped the guy with anger and yes, the people who were there on the bus also think that the boy did that intentionally. But, in that case, that accident happened due to the inertia of motion, but the boy becomes the victim.

Abhish, a guy who scored a good percentage in his school but couldn't get a seat in his dream engineering college due to the more seats for the girls to promote more girls for the engineering. So, some girls with lesser mark had joined the college, but he couldn't. Yes, that rule to promote the education for girls is right, but did anybody realise the mind of that boy at that moment?

Sourav, who always topped his class and had the degree which he wanted, but couldn't get the dream job in his life. His wish was to become an international financial analyst, but he had to manage his family. He is the eldest child of his family, so he had to look after his family business. That's why he left his dream. Yes, he did for his family and this is the story of every eldest child in a family.

She also shared another story of her teacher, who recently got married. After marriage, he became the sandwich between two superpowers of his life, one is his mother and another is his wife. He has to manage his life according to the lifestyle of those two women. Every time, people say, that the women have the superpower to manage everything, but the man struggles from those superpowers. The guy is moving like a pendulum between his mother and wife to keep both happy, but he couldn't be happy himself.

There is a famous line, that "MARD KO DARD NEHI HOTA HAI", but do you ever feel that Dard or the Pain is a part of our life. If we get hurt physically or mentally, we suffered from pain. If this line was true, then no man won't died from accidents or from heart attacks. Even some man can't express the real pain which they get from their wives, because the law for women may punish them with some fake cases.
